Our Australian/Asian Poem: Context Presentation

We Asians,
Forced mathematicians.
School girls like pearls.
Always smart
from end to start

Awe at the sight of harbour bridge
Astound at the taste of kangaroo meat

Always love to shop in the busy Sydney

Australia...

The land down under

Where our new pride was born

A bowl of rice eaten with chopsticks

Strict parents, the lord we obey
Some times our boat would sink
If we’re not as good as they think

In a group of multicultural friends

We may speak different languages

But in spite...

Our hearts are linked together

Forever and ever

In the year of the mighty tiger

A new decade had began

Screens occupied by your finger

Gadgets made in Japan

A year of good and bad

Here is something sad

The 2010 Haiti earthquake
A catastrophe only nature can make

As time goes by
We will fly high
Try and try and try
To reach the blue Australia sky
Our love for this country will never die
